Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the Indian contingent on their successes at the Tokyo Olympics. India finished the Tokyo Games with their highest-ever medal tally of seven medals – one gold, two silver, and four bronze medals. In addition to Neeraj Chopra’s gold, both Mirabai Chanu and Ravi Dahiya won silver for weightlifting. Among the bronze winners were PV Sindhu, the Indian men’s hockey team, boxing champion Lovlina Borgohain and wrestler Bajrang Punia.
