Rangina Kargar, a member of the Afghan parliament, had traveled to New Delhi but was deported back. Kargar is a member of the Wolesi Jirga where she represents the Faryab province. She holds a diplomatic/official passport which facilitates visa-free travel under a reciprocal arrangement with India. However, she was sent back by the Fly Dubai airline to Istanbul via Dubai. She said that her passport was seized and only returned to her in Istanbul.
