Bihar is alert towards Omicron threat: Nitish

Patna :Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today said that the government was alert

towards the threat of omicron, the new variant of coronavirus and has initiated all possible

measures to check it.

While talking to the news persons after his regular Janata Darbar, Mr Kumar told news persons

that omicron threat was there as 21 cases have been found in the country.

He said that in view of its possible outbreak the government was alert and has issued instructions

to adopt all possible measures to detect and check the possible spread of the new variant in the state.

The Chief Minister said that the State Health Minister has taken the issue seriously and was

cautious towards it.

An emergent meeting was conducted on the issue and all possible measures were discussed to prevent the new variant.

He said if any person tested positive for the coronavirus infection, further examination was being done to ascertain the possibility of the new variant. He, however said that it was time consuming process and usually taked 5 to 7 days.
