Varanasi/ Lucknow : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that Bharatiya Janata Party government has established Sanatan tradition at the world arena under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with a clear vision.
“There was a time after Independence, when even to rebuild Somnath temple, many had strongly opposed it but now despite all oppositions, a grand Ram temple is being constructed in Ayodhya,” he said while addressing the party’s Intellectuals meet of Varanasi Cantonment assembly constituency at Faculty of Education, Banaras Hindu University (BHU) at Kamachha here on Sunday evening.
He further said that efforts are not only being made to fulfill the people’s expectations in Ayodhya but a grand project has also been launched to bring back the glories of Kashi Vishwanath temple by developing a corridor there. “There was a time when top leadership of the country hesitated to visit these religious places but Modi showed his determination by laying the foundation stones of ambitious projects both in Ayodhya and Kashi,” he said. “Not only in Ayodhya and Kashi but the projects have also been launched for the development of Mathura and Vindhyachal,” he said, adding that like Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, Maa Vindhyavasini Corridor is also being developed.
According to him, a couple of years ago when first time Deepostsav was celebrated on the occasion of Deepawali, we had worked hard to arrange 51,000 diyas (earthen lamps) across the state but this year, about 7.5 lakhs have already been prepared for the same ‘Festival of Light’ and this has provided huge opportunities to the traditional profession of Prajapati Samaj.
“In 1916, when Mahatma Gandhi came to attend the BHU’s inaugural function he also visited Kashi Vishwanath temple and seeing the unhygienic condition, he had expressed his serious concern but nothing was done there to improve the condition by those who came to the power in the name of Gandhiji,” he said, adding that however, under the leadership Modi, a grand corridor is being developed which would attract the attention of the entire world in the coming years.
Not only this, Yogi said that earlier the people had avoided visiting the Kumbh in Prayagraj due to lack of facilities and mismanagement but in 2019, his government had organised the same in such a way that attracted the attention of the entire world.
“Prior to the Kumbh, the PM had asked him that he was willing to organise Pravasi Bharatiya Day (PBD) convention that time in Varanasi and later, when he met the officers of the External Affairs Ministry in the connection, the latter showed hesitation that how such a large number of rooms could be arranged in five-star hotels for the foreign visitors,” he said, adding that we had assured the officers of making proper arrangements in this direction and a big temporary tent city was built there with all modern facilities and seeing that many foreigners preferred to stay there instead of five star hotels.
Besides, 76 senior dignitaries of different countries also visited Kumbh in Prayagraj apart from attending PBD function in Varanasi and many felt that the PBD function was the best among all the previous 15 such events, said Yogi, adding that all these things could be possible with the determination, commitment and a clear vision of the central and state government.
He also praised the PM for popularizing the rich Indian tradition of Yoga across the world since on his approach, June 21 was declared as International Day of Yoga. During his long address, Yogi also highlighted the achievements of how the state had improved its health system and made itself self-reliant during the coronavirus pandemic period.
Earlier, after garlanding the portraits of party’s ideals Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyay and Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, the CM inaugurated the function which was also attended by regional president Mahesh Chandra Srivastava, UP ministers Anil Rajbhar, Ravindra Jaiswal and Neelkanth Tiwari, MLA Saurabh Srivastava and others. On the occasion, Yogi felicitated many teachers also.
Meanwhile, in Lucknow BJP state general secretary (organisation) Sunil Bansal said in BJP’s intellectual conference that BJP is fast turning the country into a New India fulfilling the dreams of youth.
“We are working for the welfare of the world and the country is moving ahead with the power of youth,” Mr Bansal said.
“We are holding a conference on Teacher’s Day. BJP has become a big party by its work and has 2.5 crore members only in UP,” he said.
Mr Bansal said leadership has been achieved under the leadership of Modi ji as every person standing on the last rung got the benefit of the government schemes.
