Shimla : Opposition Congress on Tuesday claimed that out of 20 assemblies(including 17 assemblies of the Lok Sabha seat and in the three assemblies bye election) its candidates secured a margin in 12 assemblies compare to eight of the ruling BJP.
This was stated by The Congress State President Kuldeep Singh Rahtore while addressing press conference. He said that victory of three assembly seat and one of Lok Sabha on October 30 bye election attributed to the people and unity of party in the state.
He said that Congress candidate Rohit Tahkur got a lead of 6,293 votes from Jubbal Kotkhai Assembly, Bhwani Singh Pathainia form Fathepur by margin of 5,789, Sanjay Singh Awasthi from Arki assembly by 3,277,
Similarly Former MP and Congress candidate Pratibha Singh secured margin of 4,153 votes from Bharmour (ST) 2,140 in Lahaulspiti, 1,841 in Manali, 3,596 in Kullu, 1,878 in Banjar 5,541 in Anni 2,571 in Nachan, 19,253 in Rampur and 4,977 in Kinnuar.
Brig Khushal Singh of BJP secured lead of 1,264 votes in Karsogh 2,015 in Sundernagar, 19,903 in Seeraj 2,621 in Darang, 7,144 in Jogindernagar, 3,182 in Mandi Sadar, 1,015 in Balh and 3,182 in Sarkagat.
Co-incharge of Cong party in Himachal Sanjay Dutt said that the victory of Congress party in the bye election shows the public faith in the party and its united efforts to fight the election by regaining public trusts after gap of twelve years in any Assembly and Parliamentary election in the state.
He said that party not only wrestled the Jubbal Kotkhai seat by a huge margin but won the Mandi Parliamentary seat despite misuse of power and money by the ruling party.
