Puducherry: As many as 125 fresh Coronavirus cases have been reported in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours, ending at 10 AM on Wednesday, taking the infection tally to 1,24,436 and the death toll remained at 1,819.
About 127 new cases and one fatality had registered on Tuesday.
According to Covid-19 status released by the health department here, of the 5,156 swab sample tests conducted and the reports of 125 persons tested positive.
Eighty cases were reported in Puducherry region, 23 in Karaikal region, seven in Yanam region and 15 in Mahe region.
In the last 24 hours, 113 persons were discharged and 65 of them were from Puducherry region, 21 from Karaikal region, and 27 from Mahe regions.
Presently, 129 persons are being treated at hospitals in Puducherry region, 28 in Karaikal region, 12 in Yanam region and 19 in Mahe region.
Another, 798 persons tested positive for COVID-19 were undergoing treatment in home isolation in all the four regions of the Union Territory.
So far, 1,24,436 persons are infected by Corona Virus and of which 1,21,631 patients were treated and discharged, 1,819 people died and there are 986 active cases now.
The test positivity rate in the UT is 2.42 per cent, case fatality rate is 1.46 per cent and the recovery rate is 97.75 per cent.
