Puducherry : As many as 61 fresh Coronavirus cases have been reported in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours, ending at 10 AM on Monday, taking the infection tally to 1,24,836.
No deaths were reported during the period and the death toll remained at 1823.
Hundred new cases and two fatalities had registered on Sunday.
According to the Covid 19 status released by the health department here, of the 3,818 swab sample tests conducted yesterday, 61 persons tested positive for the virus.
As many as 44 new cases were recorded in Puducherry region, eight in Karaikal region and nine in Mahe region of the UT.
About 131 persons were discharged in the last 24 hours. Of them, 82 were from Puducherry region, 28 from Karaikal region, 10 from Yanam region and 11 from Mahe region.
Presently, 126 patients are being treated at hospitals in Puducherry region, 26 in Karaikal region, six in Yanam region and 19 in Mahe region.
Another, 683 persons tested positive for COVID-19 were undergoing treatment in home isolation in all the four regions of the Union Territory.
So far, 1,24,836 persons are infected by Coronavirus and of which 1,22,153 patients were treated and discharged, 1,823 people died and presently there 860 active cases.
The test positivity rate in the UT is 1.60 per cent, case fatality rate is 1.46 per cent and the recovery rate is 97.85 percent.
As many as 8,63,831 persons including healthcare workers, frontline workers and general public were so far vaccinated against Covid in the Union Territory.
