Hamirpur/Chamba : In order to promote tourism business in the district under Chalo Chamba campaign, concrete arrangements have been made for organizing the National Level Himalayan Ghoral 9th Dragon Boat Race Competition at Taleru Boating Point of Dalhousie Assembly Constituency from October 9 to 12, courtesy of Indian Kayaking and Canoeing Association.
Deputy Commissioner DC Rana held a meeting with various officers and said that about one thousand participants of international and national level from 23 states will participate in the competition.
During a detailed review on the outline of organizing the competition, the Deputy Commissioner said that it would be necessary to provide the participants 72 hours before the corona negative report or the certificate of having administered both the doses of the vaccine.
The Deputy Commissioner also directed to clean the Chamera reservoir and remove the existing wood and waste poly material at the earliest.
The Deputy Commissioner directed to form a coordination committee of officers of various departments to ensure a sound management system.
It was decided in the meeting that only eco-friendly material would be used for food and drink during the event. Apart from this, ambulances and NDRF teams will also be deployed.
Apart from cultural presentations at the venue, it was decided to organize various activities to introduce the famous arts and crafts of the district.
In the meeting, SDM Salooni and Dalhousie also gave the details of the important work done for the preparations for the event.
During this, various important topics related to the transport system; lodging and food, road repair, opening and closing ceremony of the competition were also discussed in detail.
During this, important aspects related to the organization of the proposed paragliding competition in Khajjiar were also discussed.
