London : England Women on Saturday named a 15-member squad for their five-match ODI series against New Zealand, which begins on September 16.
Off-spinner Charlie Dean earned her maiden ODI call-up in the England squad on the back of some strong performances in The Hundred.
Experienced campaigners Kate Cross and Lauren Winfield-Hill also returned to the squad after missing the recently-concluded T20I series. Dani Wyatt also returned after her non-selection in the squad for the ODI series against India. The squad will be led by Heather Knight.
“We’re really looking forward to the Royal London Series. It’s a great test for us, and five more important ODIs ahead of the ICC Women’s World Cup next year,’ said, Lisa Keightley, head coach.
“It’s a very busy schedule and we’ll need to work hard throughout it to ensure players are in the best position to get through it, and it may well be that we need to manage the group in order to do that,’ she added.
The ODI series will begin on September 16 in Bristol and conclude on September 26 in Canterbury.
