Bogota : Striker Radamel Falcao and defender Oscar Murillo have been ruled out of Colombia’s FIFA 2022 World Cup qualifiers against Brazil and Paraguay due to injury, the Colombian Football Federation (FCF) said on Monday.
Falcao is expected to miss up to a month after suffering an abductor strain while playing for Rayo Vallecano in a 2-1 loss to Real Madrid in Spain’s La Liga on Saturday.
Murillo sustained a shoulder injury in Pachuca’s 3-2 defeat away to Club Tijuana in Mexico’s Liga MX, also on Saturday.
The FCF did not immediately name replacements for the pair.
Colombia will meet Brazil in Sao Paulo on Thursday and Paraguay in Barranquilla five days later.
The Cafeteros are currently fourth in the 10-team South American zone standings with 16 points from 12 games so far.
