Dehradun : Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Adami Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal on Monday promised that if the AAP was voted to power in Uttarakhand, Rs 1 crore will be given as ex-gratia to families of martyrs who die in the line of duty.
“If the AAP government comes to power, any soldier from the state if he is martyred anywhere, AAP Chief Minister Ajay Kothiyal will hand over a cheque of Rs 1 crore to his family,” Kejriwal told a rally here. He also announced that an AAP government will provide jobs to ex-servicemen.
“After retirement, the soldiers will not have to wander. If an AAP government is formed in Uttarakhand, then ex-servicemen will be given direct government jobs so that they contribute to the development of Uttarakhand,” he said.
At the rally, Kejriwal called upon all the soldiers to work with the AAP for the development of Uttarakhand.
“If the soldiers supported the AAP, then no one can stop the formation of an AAP government,” he said.
“In the past years, you have given opportunities to the BJP and Congress by voting for them. Give me a chance and you will see the change on the ground,” he thundered.
Kejriwal said Baba Saheb Ambedkar had a dream that if every child gets good education, then poverty can be banished. So many governments came in the past 70 years, but no one fulfilled Ambedkar’s dream, he said.
“Governments deliberately did not pay attention to education. Both BJP and Congress deliberately kept people illiterate for their vote bank. AAP will give better education to every poor child of the country. I have done this in Delhi and I will fulfill Babasaheb’s dream here as well,” he said.
