Aurangabad : Maharashtra State Industry and District Guardian Minister Subhash Desai took note of the water crisis and decided to reduce the water tax by 50 per cent for the residence of Aurangabad city. Mr Desai announced Friday night when he was addressing gathering here on the occasion of ongoing Shambu Raje Mahotsav in Aurangabad. Behalf of citizens of Aurangabad on Saturday Shiv Sena senior leader and former MP Chandrakant Khaire, State EGS Minister Sandipan Bhumare , Minister of State Abdul Sattar, liaison chief Vinod Ghosalkar, District chief and MLC Ambadas Danve, Narendra Trivedi, MLA Pradip Jaiswal, MLA Sanjay Shirsath, former Mayor Nandkumar Ghodele among others thanked Mr Desai for his announcement. Mr Desai also directed to civic body to take measures for the smooth supply of drinking water to the residents of city who were facing problems since last several months. They also thanked Civic body administrator Astik Kumar Pandey for following the matter. However, municipal corporation administration has geared up to increase lifting of excess water from Jayajwadi dam and Harsil lake to fill up the deficiency of water for the city and expected to get adequate water after May 20 .
