Aurangabad(Maharashtra) : Heavy rain lashed many parts of Hingoli, Parbhani, Latur and Nanded districts of Marathwada region of Maharashtra over the last 24 hours, officials said.
The MeT has forecast heavy rain in Marathwada, Vidarbha and Madhya Maharashtra for the next two days till Sunday. Heavy rain warning has been issued in some places of the Konkan region as well.
In Hingoli, heavy rain accompanied by thundershowers occurred in Digrus and surrounding areas of Hingoli taluka late Thursday. Due to the heavy showers, the stream of Pimpri was flooded and the communication of five nearby villages was cut off.
In Parbhani, the inflow of water in the Lower Dudhana Dam has increased after incessant rain, prompting the authorities to open four gates of the dam to released 4,714 cuses per second water in river Dudhana basin.
In Latur’s Ausa taluka, traffic was disrupted for several hours as the bridge on the Bheta-Andora route went under water following the rain.
While in Nanded, 17 villages were cut off due to heavy rain last night.
Due to continuous showers in Osmanabad for the past few days, the dam on Bori river in Tuljapur taluka is full capacity and the Narma-Madi waterfall in Naldurg fort has started.
