HIMACHAL PARDESH/Hamirpur : Himachal Pradesh registered 263 new COVID-19 cases and 2 related deaths on Tuesday.
Kangra district led the tally with 69 new positive cases, followed by Mandi 66, Hamirpur, 64, and Shimla 21.
He said that with two COVID deaths were reported from Kangra district, taking the total fatalities in the state to 3,639.
In Mandi district forty students of a private school of Dharampur have been found positive and placed under home isolation.
A spokesman of the HP health department said that the number of active cases in the state had also risen to 1,715 despite 162 older patients getting cured.
He said that during the last twenty-four hours, 11,002 samples were tested for the COVID out of which 263 were found positive.
Meanwhile, in Hamirpur district, 64 new positive cases were reported on Tuesday. Those found positive included 32 men and women including twenty-four children and young persons in the age groups of 2 to 25 years respectively.
With this, the number of active cases in the district has risen to 403, and that of total fatalities at 270. Out of total active cases, as many as 391 were under home isolation and 12 in the government isolation centers.
The spokesman of the health department has asked the people to get themselves vaccinated with the second dose if they have completed eighty-four days after the first dose of the vaccine.
He said that the department would organize vaccination camps in sixty places of the district on Wednesday for the benefit of the people.
