Hamirpur (HP) : Five more people, three from Kangra and two from Mandi district, lost their lives due to the dreaded virus on Sunday, said a spokesman of the state Health Department.
He added that sixty new positive cases were found against 214 older cases that were cured on Sunday thereby bringing down the number of active cases to 1,216 in the state.
He said that in all, 2,948 samples were tested on Sunday out of which sixty positive cases were found. While nineteen new cases were found in Hamirpur, sixteen in Kangra, and ten were found in Mandi district.
The number of total confirmed cases has risen to 224890 and that of cured cases to 219895.
The number of total fatalities has risen to 3,762, the spokesman added.
Meanwhile, the state government has issued instructions to the Health Department to increase the number of sample testing from today so that no corona cases were left in the state and may cause problems in the coming days.
