Gandhinagar : Ghatlodia MLA Bhupendra Patel took the oath as the new chief minister of Gujarat on Monday.
On Sunday Mr Patel was unanimously elected by the Gujarat BJP MLAs as their leader to succeed Vijay Rupani, who resigned on Saturday.
Home Minister Amit Shah was also present at the swearing in ceremony.
Vijay Rupani resigned on Saturday as the Chief Minister of the state leaving questions over who could be his successor.
