The Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP) Sydney has released the 15th edition of the Global Peace Index. It ranks 163 countries in the world based on the level of violence and socio-political disturbances in the nation. Iceland has retained its position at the top since 2008 while Afghanistan is at the bottom of the index. India is the 135th most peaceful country in the world and 5th in the Asia-Pacific region.
