The Institute for Management Development (IMD) has compiled the 2021 World Competitiveness Index which examines the effects of COVID-19 on economies around the world this year. It ranks 64 economies and assesses the extent to which a country promotes the prosperity of its people. The five most competitive nations according to the Index are Switzerland, Sweden, Denmark, Netherlands and Singapore respectively. India has ranked at 43.
