Kangana Ranaut receives death threats, HP police registers case

Shimla : The Himachal Pradesh police department on Tuesday registered an FIR into the death threats allegedly being received by renowned film actor Kangana Ranaut.

Superintendent of Police, Kullu Gurudev Sharma said that although the actress has already been extended Y+ category security, police has still been alerted.

The Bollywood actress said she filed a complaint with Manali police station after receiving threats on Instagram post recently.

The actress said in an Instagram post this morning that she had written a post remembering the Mumbai terror attack martyrs, following which she was threatened with death by someone from Bathinda.

Sharing a picture with her family members at the Golden Temple, Kangana posted, “I wrote in a post, which said, ‘Never forgive or forget traitors’.”

She urged Congress President Sonia Gandhi to direct Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi to take immediate action on the threat and expressed hope that the Punjab government will take action.

She also alleged that as elections were going to be held in Punjab, for this some people were using her words out of context and said that if anything were to happen to her in the future, then those who use politics of hatred and rhetoric would be fully responsible.

Kangana is presently holidaying at her Manali home amidst tight security arrangements. She had come to Manali four days ago to attend the ceremony of Lord Aaradhyadev Karthik Swami in the tourist town and has been staying there since.

The actor has also posted a copy of the FIR on her Instagram post, revealing the recent development.
