Kavaratti : The Lakshadweep administration on Monday celebrated its 66th Lakshadweep Formation Day in a colourful manner with active participation of people from all walks of life.
A Anbarasu, Advisor to the Administrator, hoisted the National Flag at Gandhi Square in this capital island, an official statement said here.
He received the Guard of Hounor of Lakshadweep Police, India Reserve Battalion, CRPF, Forest Guard, NCC and NSS contingents.
In his speech, Mr Anbarasu reiterated the commitment of the administration for uplifting the standard of Island’s people.
The Lakshadweep administration is celebrating the formation day with a week-long programme as iconic Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. A variety of programmes are planned during this week.
