New Delhi : Former Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Iqbal Singh Lalpura on Friday took over as the new chairperson of National Commission for Minorities (NCM).
Mr Lalpura, former Punjab police Deputy Inspector General (DIG), assumed the office charge in the presence of Union Minority Affairs Minister Mukthar Abbas Naqbi here on Friday.
Extending his best wishes for all the success in his new responsibility, the Union Minister said Mr Lalpura’s experience in administration, social and literary fields will be helpful in strengthening Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to “Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas”.
Syed Ghayorul Hasan Rizv was the last chairperson of the NCM. He had served as the chairperson from May 26, 2017 to May 25, 2020
