Chennai : Tamil Nadu Health Minister Ma.Subramanian
today met Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya and urged
him to take steps to get President’s assent for the BIll seeking to
exempt TN from the purview of the NEET exams and expedite the
AIIMS construction works in Madurai and allotment of additional
COVID vaccines to the State.
An official release here said during his meeting in Delhi, Subramanian
submitted a memorandum to Mandaviya on issues concerning the State
health department.
Apart from admission Policy in Medicine and Opposition to National
Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET), he urged Mandaviya to expedite
the construction and establishment of AIIMS at Madurai.
Subramanian also requested the Centre to set up a new AIIMS Hospital
in Coimbatore, besides establishment of new Government Medical
Colleges sn Six districts and establishment of New Government Nursing
Colleges in Government Medical College premises in Tamil Nadu.
He also requested him to enable the affected Students of Ukraine
Medical College to continue their Studies in Medical Colleges in India,
while registering the State’s objection to the Draft Post Graduate
Medical Education Regulations Recently Circulated for Public Opinion.
While requesting supply of additional Covid vaccines to Tamil Nadu, the
health minister also urged the Centre to release the funds sanctioned
under the 15th Finance Commission Grants for Health for the 2022-23
fiscal.
Subramanian also urged Mandaviya to surrender all the vacant All India
MBBS seats for TN and sanction 50 Primary Health centres for the State.
