Mumbai, Maharashtra on Monday recorded 26 fresh cases of the highly transmissible Covid-19 variant taking its Omicron tally to 167, state health official data said.
Eleven were spotted in Mumbai, five in Raigadh, four in Thane, two in Nanded, one each in Nagpur, Palghar, Bhiwandi, and Pune rural, it said.
Of the fresh cases, 14 were male and 12 were female, including four were under 18 years and two above 60 years, the officials said.
Maharashtra also reported 1,426 fresh Covid-19 cases on Monday as 21 patients died of the disease.
The state’s cumulative case tally is now 66,59,314 while the toll has climbed to 1,41,454.
As of Monday, 6,85,49,133 tests have been conducted in the state.
In 24 hours, 776 patients were discharged, taking the overall count of recoveries to 65,03,733.
The state’s recovery rate stands at 97.66 per cent and fatality at 2.12 per cent.
