Aurangabad : The Marathwada region of Maharashtra recorded 19 fresh COVID-19 cases and no related death during the past 24 hours, health authorities informed on Tuesday.
The district headquarters report stated that of eight districts in the region, Latur district recorded 6 cases followed by Aurangabad with 4 cases, Parbhani and Nanded 3 cases each, Beed had 2 cases and Osmanabad had a single case.
While, Hingoli district did not register any new case on Monday, they added.
Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours, 1426 fresh cases of COVID-19 were recorded across the state, taking the total number of infections to 66,59,314.
The state also registered 21 more related deaths, taking the death toll to 1,41,454.
Meanwhile,776 patients recovered in the state, pushing the total number of recoveries to 65,03,733. The recovery rate currently stands at 97.67 per cent while the fatality rate is 2.12 per cent.
At present, there are 10,441 active cases across Maharashtra undergoing treatment at different COVID-19 centres and hospitals, the health authorities said.
Meanwhile, 26 fresh cases of the new vairant Omicron were reported in the state on Monday.
With this total total number of positive cases of Omicron climbed to 167 while 72 people have been cured so far, they added.
