Maha: Marathwada registers 196 fresh COVID-19 cases, no deaths

Aurangabad : The Marathwada region of Maharashtra recorded 196 fresh COVID-19 cases during the past 24 hours, health authorities informed on Thursday.

The district headquarters report stated that of eight districts in the region, Osmanabad district was the worst-affected with 74 cases , followed by Beed with 68 cases, Aurangabad had 21 cases, Latur had 18 cases, Nanded recorded 7 cases, Jalna recorded 4 cases and Parbhani and Hingoli recorded 2 each cases.

Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours, 3,783 fresh cases of COVID-19 were recorded across the state, taking the total number of infections to 65,07,930.

The state also registered 56 more deaths, taking the death toll to 1,38,277.

Meanwhile, 4,364 patients recovered in the state, pushing the total number of recoveries to 63,17,070 the recovery rate currently stands at 97.07 per cent while the fatality rate is 2.12 per cent.

At present, there are 49,034 active cases across Maharashtra undergoing treatment at different COVID-19 centres and hospitals, the health authorities said.
