Mumbai :The Uddhav Thackeray group of the Shiv Sena has suffered another major setback when the party’s Ajay Chaudhary was de-recognized as a group leader late last night, it was reported on Monday.
This means that Eknath Shinde will be the group leader. The Legislative Secretariat has sent a letter to Mr Shinde in this regard.

Ajay Chaudhary was appointed as the group leader on behalf of Shiv Sena. His appointment has been cancelled. The Legislative Secretary has sent a letter to Chief Minister Shinde and Bharat Gogavale stating that the appointment of Sunil Prabhu as the Chief whip has been cancelled and Bharat Gogavale has been appointed as the Chief whip in his place.
Meanwhile, after the defeat in the election of the assembly speaker, the Shiv Sena suffered a major blow on Monday. The Legislative Assembly has clarified that CM Shinde and Gogavale will be the group leaders and representatives of the Legislature. This decision has increased the legal difficulties of the Shiv Sena.
On Sunday BJP and Shinde group’s candidateRahul Narvekar defeated Shiv Sena’s Rajan Salvifor thepostof the assembly speaker. Narvekar got 164 votes while Salvi got 107 votes.
The motion for the floor test will come up today in the assembly.
