Kolkata, Sep 14 (UNI) A major train accident was averted on Tuesday when UP East Coast Express rammed against
a battery-power trolley, which went immovable on the track at Santragachi, about 9 km west of Howrah station, and the
passenger train stopped after rolling a certain distance, official sources said.
There was no injury in the incident as some railwaymen, who were handling the trolley, abandoned it on the track and ran away
when the East Coast ran over the trolley on track.
The train resumed its journey after one and half hours with a new engine, sources said.
This happened around 12 00 when the battery-powered trolley from Santragachi rail yard was crossing the track but it suddenly
went immovable on the track.
