Aurangabad : The Marathwada region of Maharashtra recorded 2,732 fresh Covid-19 cases and 9 related deaths, health authorities informed on Saturday. Reports collected by UNI from the all district headquarters stated that of eight districts in the region, Aurangabad district recorded the highest 687 cases and five deaths followed by Beed with 150 cases and 2 deaths, Jalna district reported 282 cases and a single death, Hingoli had 108 cases, Parbhani had 654 cases, Nanded had 353 cases, Latur had 326 cases and Osmanabad had 172 cases, they added. Meanwhile, 24,958 fresh cases of Covid-19 were recorded across the state, taking the total number of infections to 76,55,554. The state also registered 103 more deaths, taking the death toll to 1,42,461. Meanwhile, 45,648 patients recovered in the state, pushing the total number of recoveries to 72,42,649. The recovery rate currently stands at 94.61 per cent while the fatality rate is 1.86 per cent. At present, there are 2,66,586 active cases across Maharashtra undergoing treatment at different Covid-19 centres and hospitals, the health authorities said. Meanwhile,110 fresh cases Omicron were reported in the state, taking the tally up to 3,040. So far1,603 people have recovered so far, they added.
