Aurangabad : The Marathwada region of Maharashtra recorded 94 fresh COVID-19 cases and 3 positive patients are succumbed during the past 24 hours, health authorities informed on Wednesday.
The district headquarters report stated that of eight districts in the region Beed district was the worst-affected with 41 cases and single death followed by Aurangabad reported 13 cases and single death, Jalna reported three cases and single death, Osmanabad reported 21 cases , Latur registered 7 cases, Parbhani had 4 cases ,Nanded and Hingoli registered 2 cases each.
Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours, 2,844 fresh cases of COVID-19 were recorded across the state, taking the total number of infections to 65,44,606.
The state also registered 60 more deaths, taking the death toll to 1,38,962.
Meanwhile, highest 3,029 patients recovered in the state, pushing the total number of recoveries to 63,65,277 the recovery rate currently stands at 97.26 per cent while the fatality rate is 2.12 per cent.
At present, there are 36,794 active cases across Maharashtra undergoing treatment at different COVID-19 centres and hospitals, the health authorities said.
