Shillong, Meghalaya recorded 11 more cases of recovery from COVID-19 related complications and six new cases of infection on Monday, health officials said.
The state has so far registered 84,799 confirmed COVID-19 cases, which include 1,483 deaths
due to the viral disease, besides 83,257 cases of recovery from the infection.
Director Health Services (MI), Dr. Aman War said the new COVID-19 cases detected included
four in East Khasi Hills district and two in West Garo Hills district.
On the other hand, the number of active Covid-19 cases in the state has further come down to 59, even as the active caseload in the most pandemic-hit East Khasi Hills, which includes state capital Shillong too has plummeted to 44 with the district recording six more cases of recovery on Monday.
The other districts in the state too have been witness to a steady slide in the number of active Covid-19 cases with six in West Garo Hills, three each in East Jaintia Hills and Ri-Bhoi, two in East Garo Hills and one case in North Garo Hills, while the South Garo Hills, South West Garo Hills,
South West Khasi Hills, West Jaintia Hills and West Khasi Hills had no active case.
Of the 12,48,722 persons tested for COVID-19 in the State till Monday, 11,63,923 were tested negative for the virus, the health official said.
Meanwhile, 32,098 health care workers received the first dose of the vaccine against COVID-19 and 29,115 were administered with the second dose, 96,976 front-line workers got the first jab and 84159 took the second shot, 11,03,101 persons from among the general public have been inoculated with the first dose and 7,68,204 citizens have been fully vaccinated with the second dose across the state as on date.
