MUMBAI : A metropolitan magistrate’s court on Monday granted bail to businessman Raj Kundra, who was arrested in July in the case pertaining to the alleged creation and publishing of pornographic films on mobile applications. He was granted bail on a surety of Rs 50,000 with certain conditions.
Kundra had filed a fresh bail plea last week after the Mumbai Police’s supplementary chargesheet in the case had named him as an accused.
Kundra’s plea had also stated that other accused, arrested in connection with case earlier, have been granted bail and therefore his plea should be considered on grounds of parity. It also said that the police have not been able to show any evidence establishing his connection with mobile apps Hotshots and Bollyfame where the adult films were uploaded.
