NATO calls out China’s assertive behavior, China calls it ‘slander’

In a recent confrontation, NATO leaders have announced that China is a constant security challenge and said the Chinese are working to undermine global order. The new Brussels communique states that the NATO nations “will engage China with a view to defending the security interests of the alliance.” China has denounced the statement from NATO saying it was “slander on China’s peaceful development, a misjudgment of the international situation and (NATO’s) own role, and a continuation of the Cold War mentality and organizational political psychology.”
