Puducherry : As many as 11 fresh Covid-19 cases have been reported in the Union Territory on Friday, 18 less than what had been recorded on Thursday.
With this, the Covid infection tally rose to 1,28,145 and death toll to 1,861.
The lone death was reported in Mahe region of UT.
According to the Covid 19 status released by the health department here, of the 848 swab sample tests conducted yesterday, 11 persons tested positive for the virus.
Three new cases were reported in Puducherry region, two in Karaikal region and six in Mahe region.
In the last 24 hours, 40 persons were discharged and 20 of them were from Puducherry region, 11 from Karaikal region, one from Yanam region and eight from Mahe region.
Presently, 48 patients were being treated at hospitals in Puducherry region, five in Karaikal region, two in Yanam region and eight in Mahe region.
Another, 257 persons diagnosed positive were taking treatment under home isolation in all the four regions of the Union Territory.
So far, 1,28,145 persons are infected by Coronavirus, of which 1,25,964 patients were treated and discharged, 1,861 people died and there are 320 active cases as of now in the UT.
A sixty eight-year-old Chandran with Type 2 diabetes Mellitus, CAD and C A Recturm succumbed in the Kannur Medical College due to Covid Pneumonia and ARDS.
The test positivity rate in the UT is 1.30 per cent,case fatality rate is 1.45 per cent and the recovery rate is 98.30 per cent.
About 11,33,615 doses of Covid vaccine were so far administered to the healthcare workers, frontline workers and the general public in the Union Territory.
