Puducherry As many as 32 fresh Coronavirus cases have been reported in the Union Territory since the last 24 hours, ending at 10 AM, on Saturday, taking the Covid infection tally to 1,28,401 and death toll remained at 1,863.
No fatalities were reported during the period.
According to the Covid-19 status released by the health department here, the fresh 32 cases today were, five less than the pervious day, after testing 2,506 swab samples of persons on Friday.
Nineteen cases were reported in Puducherry region, nine in Karaikal region and two each in Yanam and Mahe regions.
In the last 24 hours, 28 persons were discharged from hospitals in UT.
Of them, 9 were from Puduherry region,10 from Karaikal, one from Yanam region and eight from Mahe region.
Presently, 67 patients were being treated at hospitals in Puducherry region, 15 in Karaikal region, six in Yanam region and seven in Mahe region.
In the four regions of UT, another 180 persons tested positive for Covid were undergoing treatment in home isolation.
So far, 1,28,401 persons are infected by Coronavirus, of which, 1,26,263 patients were treated and discharged, 1,863 people died and there are presently 275 active cases.
The test positivity rate in the UT is 1.28 per cent, case fatality rate 1.45 per cent and the recovery rate is 98.33 per cent.
About 11,50,754 doses of Covid vaccine were so far administered to the healthcare workers, frontline workers and general public in the Union Territory.
