Bhubaneswar : For the second consecutive day Odisha reported less than 400 covid positive cases in the past 24 hours taking the total tally in the state to 10,42,100.
State Health and Family Welfare department sources said 327 new cases, which included 191 from the quarantine centres and 136 as local contact cases, were reported in the past 24 hours.
Khordha district recorded the highest number of 177 cases, about 54.1 per cent of the total new cases, followed by Cuttack ( 29) and Mayurbhanj (13).
Sources said as many as eleven of the total 30 districts in the state reported no covid cases in the past 24 hours while 14 districts have registered single-digit covid cases. 44 covid positive cases(13.4 per cent) were found in the age group of 0 to 18 years.
The daily test positivity rate in the past 24 hours witnessed a marginal rise and stood at 0.65 per cent in comparison to 0.5 per cent recorded on October 31 last.
Barring Khordha district which reported 1.6 per cent test positivity rate, all the other 29 districts in the state have recorded a test positivity rate below one per cent, eight of them, however, have zero test positivity rate.
The active cases further reduced to 4122 of which Khordha district alone accounted for 1971, about 47.8 per cent of the total active cases in the state. Cuttack district next to Khordha reported 375 active cases and these two coastal districts together have 56.9 per cent of the active cases in the state.
The recovery in the state surged to 10,29,585 after 438 patients were recovered from the virus on Monday.
Four more covid deaths were recorded in the past 24 hours during the health audit pushing the total fatalities in the state to 8340.
