Chaibasa : In a major success for the West Singhbhum police an area commander of the proscribed PLFI along with two other associates was nabbed from Borotika village under Anandpur Police Station area of West Singhbhum district.
The arrested area commander has been identified as Sujeet Kumar Ram alias Sahu Ji who was also carrying a reward of Rs two lakh on his head and was active in the Anandpur and Bano Police Station areas.
Briefing the press on Saturday Chaibasa SP Ajay Linda said that Sahu Ji hails from Torpa Police Station area of Khunti district while two others are Raju Bhuiyaan and Mahaveer Singh of Borotika village under Anandpur Police Station area of West Singhbhum district.
The SP said that police was on the lookout for Sahu Ji for the last four months and after getting confirmed information regarding his location he along with his two other associates was nabbed from Borotika.
He said that a total of 10 cases are registered against Sahu Ji in different police station areas of West Singhbhum district.
From the arrested five rifles of .315 bore, 17 live cartridges of .315 bore, 7 magazine, a country-made pistol, 17 live cartridges, a double-barrel gun along with 8 live cartridges, 30 cartridges of 7.62 bore, 3 wireless sets, a walkie talkie, 8 mobile phones, 2 sim cards, a charger, 30 power banks, Rs 50,000 in cash and other items have been recovered.
