PM Modi has spoken to the leaders of various political parties in Jammu and Kashmir for the first time since the announcement in 2019 of dividing the state into two union territories. The PM sought the support of the leaders in the delimitation process in preparation for the upcoming Assembly elections Former Chief Minister and National Conference leader Omar Abdullah later said that the meeting was “a first step in the right direction”.
