New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday spoke to Chief Ministers of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh over cyclone ‘Gulab’.
During his separate conversations with Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik and Andhra Pradesh CM Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, the PM has assured all possible support from the Centre to both the states.
In a tweet, Modi said, “Discussed the cyclone situation in parts of Odisha with CM Naveen Patnaik Ji. The Centre assures all possible support in overcoming this adversity. He prayed for the safety and well-being of everybody.”
“Spoke to Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and took stock of the situation arising in the wake of Cyclone Gulab. Assured all possible support from the Centre. I pray for everyone’s safety and well-being,” he said in another tweet.
Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said the landfall process of the cyclonic storm ‘Gulab’ began on Sunday evening.
In a bulletin, it said, the landfall process has commenced over North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and adjoining South Coastal Odisha.
