Liverpool : Liverpool FC manager Jurgen Klopp will miss the club’s Premier League meeting with Chelsea after returning a suspected positive Covid-19 test result.
Klopp reported mild symptoms and is now isolating ahead of the match which is scheduled on January 2 at Stamford Bridge.
In a statement the club said that “assistant manager Pepijn Lijnders will lead” Liverpool.
“Testing of the entire first-team set-up has revealed no further positive cases within the playing squad in addition to the three confirmed by Klopp on Friday,” the club said.
“Three backroom staff members have returned suspected positive results, however.”
Liverpool are at third place with 41 points, while Chelsea are at second position with 42 points in the Premier League table.
