New Delhi : Ahead of joining Congress, former JNUSU leader Kanhaiya Kumar and Gujarat MLA Jignesh Mevani on Tuesday arrived at Shaheed Park on the occasion of the birth anniversary of freedom fighter Shahid-e-Azam Bhagat Singh.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi along with Jignesh Mevani and Kanhaiya Kumar arrived at Shaheed park at around 4:30 pm and garlanded the statue of Bhagat Singh, on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Shahid-e-Azam Bhagat Singh.
On being asked about the recent political development in Punjab, Rahul Gandhi evaded the media persons question and proceeded for AICC where he is going to address the media.
The event was organised by Indian Youth Congress at Bhagat Singh Park at ITO.
Former JNUSU leader Kanhaiya Kumar, had fought the last Lok Sabha elections in 2019 from Begusarai on a CPI ticket but lost to BJP stalwart Giriraj Singh.
Mevani is an independent MLA from Vadgam constituency in Gujarat and convener of Rashtriya Dalit Adhikar Manch (RDAM).
