Bagalakote ; Senior Congress leader and Opposition leader in state assembly Siddaramaiah Tuesday said the RSS are Talibanis because they are demons by inclination, who do not have any faith in democratic values and humanity.
“The RSS are demons by inclination while enforcing its communal and divisive ideology. I strongly believe that those who don’t have faith in democratic values or in a Parliamentary democracy or humanity, are Talibanis. That is why I described RSS as Talibanis,” he told reporters.
Dismantling the claims of the RSS, Siddarmaiah said the saffron outfit has no role what so ever in India’s freedom struggle.
“Who got us independence? Did RSS or Golwalkar got us independence? Mahatama Gandhi, Gokhale, Tilak, Lajpat Rai, Nehru, got us independence. Did Sawarkar or Godse got us independence? He must understand, he does not know history. What is the role of the RSS? Did anyone of them died for India’s independence? One who fights and dies for the country are patriots,” he said.
“Should we learn what is patriotism from CT Ravi (BJP leader)?” he asked.
Reacting to Siddaramaiah’s comments, Home Minister Araga Jnanendra, in Mysuru, said such comments does not suit the Congress leader who has been the chief minister and is Opposition leader in the state assembly.
He also said Siddaramaiah does not know the difference between Taliban and RSS.
RSS is known for good work over the years and people are not fools to buy Siddaramaiah’s jibe against the saffron outfit, he said.
Yesterday, BJP National General Secretary CT Ravi had also flayed Siddaramaiah on the issue by saying that he and opposition leaders would have seen themselves hanging from the cranes as the Talibanis were doing to their rivals.
Ravi had said, it is not the BJP, but Congress who are Talibanis, because they have relations with pro-Taliban organisations like PFI and AIMIM.
Former Union Minister and senior BJP leader Basanagouda Patil Yatnal had also called Congress as Talibanis. He had said the Congress is a replication of Taliban and its leaders are “Chota Imran Khans”.
he had alleged that a senior Congress leader had promised to restore Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir if the party returns to power.
