Nanded : Former chairman of Kandhar Panchayat Samiti, former vice president of Kalambar division co-operative sugar factory, senior Congress leader Madhavrao Pandagale died of a cardiac arrest, today. He was 74. The body will be cremated on Friday, at his native village Shiradhon in Kandhar tehsil of the district.
He entered active politics in the 1975 Gram Panchayat elections. He was the Sarpanch of Shiradhon Gram Panchayat for many years. In 1992, he won the election from Usman Nagar Zilla Parishad circle on behalf of the Congress Party and acted as the Chairman of the Kandhar Panchayat Samiti.
He served for some time as the vice-president of the Kalambar division co-operative sugar factory. He was given the responsibility of District Vice President of Congress Committee and Kandhar tehsil president. On September 7, he underwent angioplasty at a private hospital and was advised to rest. He is survived by his wife, brother, four sons, two daughters, son-in-law and grandchildren.
Many including Guardian Minister Ashokrao Chavan, Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Vice President MLC Amar Rajurkar and former Minister DP Sawant have expressed their grief over his demise.
