Mumbai : The BSE Sensex on Thursday surged 266 points to 58,617.43 as buying was seen across the board.
The Nifty too gained 93.85 points to 17,482.
The Sensex registered the days high and low at 58,712.66 and 58,549.91 points respectively.
The Nifty registered the days high and low at 17,490.70 and 17,446.95 points respectively.
The Mid Cap moved up 0.64 per cent and Small Cap by 1.07 per cent.
In 30 scrips, 23 advanced while 7 declined.
The gainers were Infosys by 2.23 per cent to Rs 1600.05, Wipro by 1.78 per cent to Rs 439.85, Tech Mahindra by 1.44 per cent to Rs 1068, Tata Steel by 1.26 per cent to Rs 108.35 and L& T by 1.20 per cent to Rs 1811.
The losers were NTPC by 1.35 per cent to Rs 157.60, SBI by 0.92 per cent to Rs 535.80, Titan by 0.35 per cent to Rs 2406 and Reliance Industries by 0.30 per cent to Rs 2598.95.
