Shah attacks previous UP govts over ‘Ram Mandir’

Ayodhya Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday launched a scathing attack on the previous governments in Uttar Pradesh over construction of the grand Ram Temple and accused them of creating hindrances in the process.

“Congress, Samajwadi Party (SP) and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) during its regime made lots of efforts to stop construction of the ‘Ram Mandir’. They unleashed batons on disciples of ram,” Shah said, while addressing a mammoth gathering here.

In an apparent attack on former Chief Ministers — Akhilesh Yadav and Mayawati, the senior BJP leader said,”There were no respect for symbols of ‘faith’ during the ‘Bua-Babua’s tenure. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath are working to give glory to every pilgrimage sites.”
