Lucknow : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday lambasted the Samajwadi Party and said those supporting Jinnah of Pakistan today, are supporting Taliban in other way.
“Opposition does not have issue in Uttar Pradesh and they want to insult Sardar Patel. National hero Sardar Patel is on one side and Jinnah, who broke the nation, is on the other. They support Jinnah and we support Sardar Patel,” he said.
The Chief Minister was addressing a Vaishya (traders) conference here, organised by senior BJP leader and former MP Naresh Agarwal.
Adityanath said that whatever BJP has promised, has been fulfilled. “BJP promised to remove Article 370 from Kashmir and it was removed. We promised for a grand Ram Temple in Ayodhya and it was under construction now,” he claimed.
The Chief Minister said, “You know how much the country has been cheated. The one who defeated Alexander the Great was Chandragupta Maurya, but historians remained silent on this. They forgot that every action has a reaction. What happened to Taliban, when they attacked America? You must have seen that a few days after the September 11, 2001 attack, America had dropped bombs and Talibanis were killed,” he said.
The Chief Minister said that Lord Buddha, the messenger of peace, never imposed war on the world, he always remained a source of inspiration and center of devotion for humanity. “Any Indian or anyone who supports peace and harmony anywhere in the world, should not forget the scenes of Taliban destroying his statue. We had said that God is punishing them for what they did to the Gautam Buddha statue,” he added.
He said people must have seen those scenes, when the Taliban destroyed the 2,500-year-old Gautam Buddha statue in Bamiyan, Afghanistan, 20 years ago. “At that time, they wanted to hurt the soul of India. The world saw the brutality of Taliban. We had said that God is punishing them for what they did to the Gautam Buddha statue,” he added.
The Chief Minister said that now, the communist and separatist ideology of the entire country has come to UP and they want to mislead the whole country. “But, we have to be cautious on their evil desire.”
He said before 2014, the benefit of housing scheme was not available and only those people got the benefit, who belong to a particular caste. But today, a large number of poor were given houses without discrimination, he claimed.
UP Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Dinesh Sharma, BJP State President Swatantra Dev Singh and State General Secretary (Organisation) Sunil Bansal were among those who attended this conference.
Naresh Aggarwal, while welcoming the guests, said that this Mahasammelan is being organised for proper participation of Vaish community in BJP.
He claimed that Vaish Samaj is 100 per cent with BJP. He said that no party is visible in the fight against BJP in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections and BJP will win more than 300 seats. He said, “We are confident that BJP government will solve the problems of the Vaish community.”
Agarwal said the effect of inflation in other goods was more than the prices of diesel and petrol. “We also oppose online trade. We are with this demand of traders,” he added.
He said the traders are definitely upset due to GST and demonetisation, but they are with the Prime Minister in the matter of national interest. Traders in the state are around 12 per cent of population, he added.
