Patna :Leader of the opposition Tejashwi Prasad Yadav today demanded immediate dismissal of Food and Consumer Protection Minister Leshi Singh for her alleged involvement in murder of former district board member Vishwajeet Singh in Purnea.
Mr Yadav told media persons here that Food and Consumer Protection Minister Ms Singh was directly involved in murder of former district board member of Purnea and she should be dismissed with immediate effect by chief minister Nitish Kumar from his cabinet. It appeared that
ministers and legislators of JD(U) were involved in illegal activities but no action was being taken against them, he added.
Leader of the opposition said that slain district board member had lodged a complaint with Sarsi police station on November 3 apprehending threat on his life from the nephew of Ms Singh as some criminals had opened fire on him on November 3 but he escaped narrowly. Despite complaint lodged by slain district board member on November 3 no action was taken in this connection he added.
Mr Yadav said officer- in- charge of Sarsi police station had been suspended just for namesake. A thorough inquiry should be conducted and those found guilty should be punished, he added.
Leader of the opposition said that wife of the deceased Anulika Singh, a district board member from Dhamdha , also had alleged that nephew of Ms Leshi Singh was responsible for killing of her husband. If chief Minister Mr Kumar was so concerned to ensure rule of law, he should remove Ms Singh from his cabinet so that fare inquiry could be conducted and punishment be slapped to those found guilty, he added. Former district board member was gunned down on Friday evening under Sarsi police station area in Purnea district.
