Telangana : Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday expressed confidence that the party would form the government in Telangana in 2024.
Addressing a public meeting held near the historic ‘Banyan Tree of 1,000 hangings’ ground here organised on the occasion of ‘ Hyderabad Liberation day’, Amit Shah said that after the formation of the BJP government in the state, we will initiate various official programs across the state on September 17 to celebrate the Telangana Liberation Day with the people.
Wishing the people of Telangana a happy liberation day, he launched a scathing attack on the KCR-led Telangana government for refusing to observe Telangana Liberation Day officially despite making promises earlier during elections.
The day would be celebrated as Independence day for Telangana, he said, adding that Hyderabad was liberated from the clutches of Nizam rule with the interference of then Home Minister Sardar Patel, the Union Minister said.
Amit Shah said that when the BJP takes power, we will celebrate Telangana Liberation Day every year officially on September 17.
Amit Shah, who arrived here from Nanded region of Maharashtra, said that Maharashtra and Karnataka, which were part of the Nizam’s realm, as well as the Telangana area, celebrate the day on a large scale every year.
KCR government is not celebrating liberation day due to fears of the Majilis, which is preventing governments from celebrating the day officially and the TRS government is functioning under the clutches of MIM, he said.
BJP will not fear the Majlis nor will our party follow impeachment politics, the Home Minister said, adding that the people of Telangana are behind the party and it would form the next government in the state .
