Hyderabad : Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Saturday conferred with Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Sigh Shekhawat in Delhi on various issues pertaining to irrigation projects in the state.
During his 40 minutes meeting with Shekhawat, Rao appealed to the minister to postpone the implementation of the gazette notification bringing all irrigation projects in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh under the purview of the river management boards.
The Chief Minister, who was accompanied by the state people’s representatives, urged the union minister to bring all the joint projects of the two Telugu states under the purview of the board.
He also presented a letter to the Union Minister on various projects in the state.
Rao who is on three-day visit to the national capital, will attend a meeting convened by Home Minister Amit Shah with chief minister of the extremists-affected states at Vignan Bhavan on Sunday.
He will also meet Union Food Minister Piyush Goyal to discuss various issues concerning the state including paddy procurement.
