Sant Kabirnagar : Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, on Sunday, said that now the jails of Uttar Pradesh are no more the centres of fun for the criminals, rather they are reform homes for prisoners.
He said this while inaugurating and laying the foundation stone of 122 development projects costing a total of Rs 245 crore here. It also included the building of district prison to be built at a cost of Rs 126 crore in Sant Kabirnagar district on Sunday.
“We have converted the jails of the state into reform homes where the criminals are being given an opportunity to reform themselves. The jails of UP are no more been the places of fun for the criminals. There was a time when the power used to be a slave of mafias, today the bulldozer of our government runs on their houses ”.
Speaking at the event, the CM said, “Our message to the mafia is very clear. If the mafia will make the life of the poor, farmer, trader hell, then our government will not let this happen in any case”.
Expressing satisfaction over the newly constructed district jail in Sant Kabir Nagar, the Chief Minister said that now the prisoners will not have to be sent to Basti district and this prison would become a model prison in the form of a reform home.
Launching a scathing attack on the opposition, the Chief Minister said that under the previous governments, dynasticism, nepotism, appeasement, dacoity, hooliganism and riots had become the identity of the state. “The jobs of the youth were auctioned and the morsels of the poor were robbed. Jobs were earlier mortgaged. If anyone tries to auction the job today, we will get their house auctioned,” he added.
CM Yogi further said that the government has given over 4.5 lakh government jobs to the youth on the basis of their merit, with complete transparency. He informed that around 90,000 more government jobs are coming up in UP.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reiterated that youths, preparing for various competitions, will get a ‘competitive examination allowance’ in the state. Also the Uttar Pradesh government has decided to distribute tablets along with digital access to youth of the state .
The CM said that the emphasis of his government is to ensure the safety, dignity and self-reliance of women in Uttar Pradesh. The recruitment of 30,000 women policemen is an important step in this direction. In the interest of women, the government is continuously taking forward several schemes like Mission Shakti, Kanya Sumangala and destitute women pension.
CM Yogi Adityanath also presented tailoring toolkits to five women under Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana at the function. Referring to this in his address, he said that this toolkit can become a self-employment platform for women following the mantra of Vocal for Local as per the intention of PM Narendra Modi.
The CM said, “Once Khalilabad in this district used to be a big center of looms and handlooms. In such a situation, why can’t it become a hub of readymade garments? If we link women with the market by giving them modern sewing machines, then every house will start making readymade garments. In such a situation, we can even overtake Bangladesh and Vietnam in terms of production of readymade garments.”
The Chief Minister also prominently mentioned the utensils industry of Bakhira in Sant Kabirnagar district. “It was forgotten under the previous governments but we are working towards making Bakhira’s utensils industry recognized on the global stage. It will become a major source of employment for the youth and women at the local level,” he said.
