Bengaluru : Karnataka Education Minister B C Nagesh on Saturday said the chapters on Tipu Sultan will not be dropped from the school syllabus but the government will include some untold historical facts related to him. “The present chapters on Tipu Sultan will not be dropped… We want to include untold historical facts related to Tipu Sultan that have been deliberately buried for many years. These facts need to be told to future generations. We need to correct these mistakes made in the past. This is an apolitical endeavor,” he said. These comments come in the wake of media reports that the government was contemplating dropping some of the chapters related to Tipu Sultan. Nagesh said the Education Ministry has received the review committee’s report and will implement the recommendations from the next academic year after discussion. The committee has come under attack by opposition parties including Congress and other groups.
